Última Aanvullingen op de naamlijst van de Nederlandse kieuwpootkreeften (Crustacea: Branchiopoda) Naturalis Soesbergen, M.; Sande, J. van de. Zeven jaar na het verschijnen van de naamlijst van de Nederlandse kieuwpootkreeften is het tijd voor een aanvulling. Er zijn ontwikkelingen op het gebied van de taxonomie van Bosmina en enkele soorten kunnen aan de lijst worden toegevoegd. De vorige naamlijst verscheen 15 jaar na een eerdere lijst en voegde toen 11 soorten watervlooien toe. Zeven jaar na het verschijnen van deze lijst zijn er uit de literatuur en door nieuwe vondsten negen soorten bij te schrijven. Het aantal in Nederland aangetroffen watervlooien komt hiermee op 109. Heat shocks delivered to newly hatched nauplii induce anomalies on the morphogenesis of thoracic and genital appendages. The induction of morphological anomalies by thermal conditions prevailing during early larval life makes it easier to integrate the morphological effects previously induced by nutritional conditions imposed to older feeding stages. Vreemde levensvormen zoals trilobieten en degenkrabben hebben altijd al tot de verbeelding gesproken. In ons land hebben we de bladpootkreeften. Binnen deze groep zijn twee vormen te onderscheiden, vijf centimer grote trilobietachtige kreeften met een groot schild en slanke, kleurrijke garnaalachtige dieren, die met de buikzijde omhoog zwemmen. Ze zijn beide aangepast aan het leven in een bijzonder biotoop: tijdelijke watertjes, zoals karresporen en snel opdrogende poelen. Ze komen al 200 miljoen jaar in onveranderde vorm voor en behoren tot de oudst levende soorten op aarde. In dit artikel worden de nieuwe soorten besproken en wordt ingegaan op de redenen voor deze opmerkelijke uitbreiding.
